Newton Saddle Club was organized in 1962 with the purpose of promoting and fostering horseback riding and related activities including horse shows, trail rides, demonstrations, etc. Our Fun Show Season runs from approximately April to October. We also have trail rides, barrel races and other events planned throughout the year. The highlight is our CPRA Rodeo held during the Harvey County Free Fair in August.
The 2017 Fun Show Flyer is posted on the "Forms and Flyers" page and will be emailed to members. Our first fun show is scheduled for Saturday April 29th at 1:30 pm. See flyer for details. The Chisholm Trail Anniversary Trail Ride will go through Harvey County April 30 through May 2nd. From TIm Wedel, Committee Chair: "The 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail is here and you can be a part of it. Join me Sunday April 30 at noon at the intersection of hwy 56 and meridian where we will pick up the proclamation from another group of riders and we will then ride with it to 1031 Chisholm Trail and possibly have a hamburger fry. Monday night we will meet at propane central at 5:30 and ride to Kaufman museum where the proclamation will be read. Wed evening we will meet the Wichita mounted police at 6 :30 and pass the proclamation to them. Any questions text Tim at 620 345 8949. Please let me know if you will be joining us."
